SOLD --- 1955 SINGER FEATHERWEIGHT 222K FREE ARM: FULLY SERVICED!!!!!

SOLD --- March 1955 SINGER 222K FEATHERWEIGHT FREE ARM SEWING MACHINE: FULLY SERVICED!!

The Singer 222 Free-arm Featherweight was only made for approximately 8 years, between 1953 and 1961.  It has been estimated that only about 110,000 in total were made for the worldwide market.

They were only ever made in the Singer Kilbowie manufacturing plant in Clydebank, Scotland.  For the North American market, they were fitted locally with 110V motors.

It has a very clean and solid case made for the 222K, with good latches and strong handle.  It comes with the inside black metal side tray for the accessories.

The machine is fully cleaned, serviced, and adjusted.  It has its original bobbin case. The five bed cushions have been replaced, and the motor belt is new.  Mechanically it runs very well! It has been tested by sewing various quilting projects.

SOLD --- 1930s GE SEWHANDY SEWING MACHINE

SOLD --- GENERAL ELECTRIC SEW HANDY SEWING MACHINE - FULLY SERVICED

The General Electric "Sewhandy" machines are considered by many to be the forerunner to the Singer 221 Featherweight.  They have similar characteristics but also differ in quite a few ways. These are relatively uncommon machines, and not often found in the condition of this one.  The pictures will attest to the overall condition.

The Sewhandy was built for General Electric by the Standard Sewing Machine Company, of Cleveland, Ohio. This one is the GE Model "A" version of the Sewhandy and has a cast iron base. These were manufactured between mid 1931 and into 1934. It has serial number A - 7942

It uses standard 15x1 needles, which makes it easier to use than some vintage machines that require either modification or vintage original needles.

It has a clean and solid case with good latches and strong handle.  It comes with the top tray for the accessories.

The machine is fully cleaned, serviced, has its original bobbin case. Mechanically it runs very well!
