ELNA #1 – “GRASSHOPPER” – FULLY SERVICED, CLEANED AND TESTED.
The first model made by the Swiss Elna Sewing Machine Company,
has become known as Elna #1. It is also known as the “Elna Grasshopper” due to the
look of the machine when the knee bar is folded up and ready for storage in the
case. It was manufactured in Geneva,
Switzerland and runs on 110/120 voltage.
This machine is a portable straight stitch and reverse, with free arm. It has the horizontal rotary hook, drop-in bobbin and is made of light weight aluminum. It takes regular 15x1 needles.
Its green colour is unusual for the time of manufacture, since
the standard colour for this period was black with the usual gold decals.
This machine is fully cleaned and serviced as well as tested and runs well.
